Event Staging Manager

Primary Purpose:

The role would suit a passionate event professional with excellent communication skills and a successful track record in building strong customer relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an on-site team in our network of 5-star hotel partners. The successful applicant will be the key representative for our organisation and the hotel and be responsible for ensuring we deliver technical support and event related services to a very high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining our outstanding customer service standards
  • Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with our hotel partners
  • Meeting sales targets and developing new business
  • Managing and mentoring staff in the event team
  • Maintaining accurate reports and monitoring of financial performance
  • Achieving budgets through the application of sound sales practices
  • Managing all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety for Staging Connections within the hotel 

Requirements to be successful:

  • Proven management or supervisory experience in event service industry
  • Experience in the hospitality or events industry
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Outstanding sales ability and negotiation skills
  • Financial Management skills
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in written form both in English and Chinese.
  • Sound technical knowledge of audio visual techniques and equipment

AV Technician

Are you a qualified Audio Visual Technician? Do you have a passion for events? If so, then we want to hear from you!

Primary Purpose of an AV Technician: 

The role is responsible for the efficient delivery, installation, operation and removal of audiovisual and event staging equipment required to run events of all sizes and complexities within our partner hotels. The successful candidate will be required to set up, operate, maintain and repair equipment used in live events, such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment.

The successful candidate will work with a creative team and learn from some of the most qualified and respected audio visual technicians and managers in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver, operate and manage all technical aspects of events, including audio, lighting, vision and rigging including all equipment;
  • Work professionally as a representative for our organization within our network of 5-star hotel partners;
  • Liaise with clients and hotel staff in a professional manner;
  • Deliver the technical aspects of events to a very high standard;
  • Install and pack down equipment in a safe manner;
  • Test and check installed equipment including aligning, tuning and troubleshooting;
  • Ensure equipment is installed according to designated plan; and
  • Ensure every event is delivered safely. 

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of audio visual technologies;
  • Knowledge of camera techniques would be highly regarded but not essential;
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in written form both in English and Chinese;
  • Highly developed customer service skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Excellent grooming and presentation;
  • Ability to operate alone and part of a team during events;
  • Flexibility to work after hours and on the weekends as required; and
  • Experience in the hospitality or events industry highly desirable.

Assistant Event Staging Manager

Primary Purpose of the Assistant Event Staging Manager:

This position requires a person with excellent communication skills and a successful track record in building and maintaining strong customer relationships in event service industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an on-site team in a 5 star Hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating an environment that supports outstanding customer service and delivers successful events
  • Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with the venue
  • Assist the Event Staging Manager (ESM) to meet sales targets and developing the business
  • Liaise with clients and prospective clients to establish, confirm and revise their event requirements
  • Assist ESM to manage and mentoring of the venue team
  • Assist ESM to maintain accurate reports and monitoring financial performance of venue
  • Assist ESM to achieve budgeted profitability (EBITA) margins through the application of sound business practices
  • Assist ESM to manage all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety for Staging Connections within the venue 

Requirements:

  • Very positive attitude and passion at work.
  • Proven management or supervisory experience in event service industry (desirable).
  • Experience in the Hospitality or Events industry highly desirable.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills that enable you to cope in a demanding environment.
  • Outstanding sales ability and negotiation skills.
  • Financial Management skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in written form both in English and Chinese.
  • Sound technical knowledge of our equipment for AV and Lighting.
  • Flexibility to work after hours and on the weekends where required.
